Centreville, VA - Today, Delegate Laura Jane Cohen proudly endorsed Senator Stella Pekarsky for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District. Delegate Laura Jane Cohen represents Virginians in the 15th State House District.

Delegate Cohen has represented voters in the 11th congressional district both on the Fairfax County School Board and now as a member of the General Assembly in Richmond. Delegate Cohen has lived in Fairfax County with her family for over two decades, during which time she has been a tireless advocate for our children and families. Prior to being elected to the Springfield District School Board, she was the president of the PTA. During her tenure on the school board, she served with Senator Pekarsky during the COVID 19 pandemic, fighting against extreme book bans and giving teachers and school staff a seat at the decision-making table with collective bargaining rights.

“As mothers, former school board members, and now elected members at the state level, we know the importance of having representation that fights for our kids and families. We know we must never back down from any attack, even those fueled by hatred.”

Cohen continued: “On the school board, I worked with Stella during one of the most tumultuous times in our history and in public education. As Chair, she led efforts that ensured our students, teachers, and staff were supported as they faced unprecedented politicized attacks. Stella has always fought for our students and the integrity of our education system.”

We need mothers who know exactly what is at stake and will never stop fighting for a better future for our kids. I know that Stella is exactly that fighter, I’ve seen it more times than I can count over the years.
